Happy 20th Anniversary to the best Sprite Series, Power Star!!
To celebrate this day, we’ve decided to show what we’ve been working on over the past few weeks.
We’ve completed development on Power Star Unleashed within the limits of Flash. With how much content we’ve started adding to it, we’ve reached a point where we can no longer update it the way we’d like. So, with that, we’ve finalized the game as Power Star Unleashed: Legacy.
Looking ahead to the future of Power Star Unleashed, and with our expanded team, we’ve decided to switch engines once again, this time to Unity. Progress is going great, and the tools we have now are allowing us to polish the game to its full potential. You can expect features such as:
- Two story arcs to choose from, told through the eyes of Luigi and Devil Mario
- Cinematic cutscenes and remade scenes from new animators
- Zero crashes and lag
- Multiple enemies, bosses, combos, and mechanics
- Co-op and VS modes
- Choices that impact both gameplay and story
- Reworked counter system
- Secret stages and cutscenes
...and much more!
You can also expect faster progress from now on, as we have teams dedicated to each project. There are tons of ideas we hope to share with you soon! : )
Here’s the changelog for Power Star Unleashed: Legacy 1.0

Neutral (Grey) Enemies and Pink Enemies added
Enemies can now use bombs as well
Pink bombs will walk toward you and explode
You can grab neutral bombs and throw them yourself
Bombs take the place of the sword- you can hold one for later or use it immediately
You can combine a bomb with Groundbreaker for double power ( more combos coming soon)
Ground pounding a bomb will launch Mario into the air
And some other stuff that probably slipped out. As always, if you wish to become a beta tester for the new engine, you can do so through our Ko-Fi.
Acilunatic will never die.
